I havea 1987 k5 blazer. It ran fine until one day when I came home from work I parked it and when I tried to start it wouldn't turn on. I've replaced the starter and coil wire. Sometimes it starts right up but I keep having this problem that it cuts out mid drive. Today it started right up after putting the new coil wire on so I thought it was good to go. I drove it down my street and then I heard this winding noise from near the steering colum or underneath. The more I accelerated the louder the noise got. I decided to turn around and go back home when the engine totally cut out in the middle of the street. Now it dosen't start and the battery seems to be dead.
