i would first change the oil over to 20-50... your said>Why is my 1997 Acura Integra using so much oil per week?..its cheap easy and fast to do..i think your oil usage will decrease......
SAFETY: Safety equipment on the 1997 Acura Integra Type Rincludes nimble handling, impressive acceleration and brakes, dualfront airbags, and side-impact protection.
Then Acura screwed with my head by introducing the 1997 Integra Type R. It was a stripped-down, lightweight, heavily modified version of my now-lame GS-R. The Type R got 195 hp from its 1.8-liter inline-four, more horsepower per liter than the Ferrari F355, a fact not lost on the media at the time. The new Integra also weighed 90 pounds less than the GS-R and used 84 percent of its 10,000-rpm tachometer. If it's crazy now, it was crazier in 1996.
Up for sale is 1997 Acura Integra with 162xxx miles in very good condition. 1.8 DOHC engine without any oil leaks. 5 speed manual transmission (shifts great). Lowered on Tokico Illuminas and Ground Control coilovers[adjustable] ($800+ setup). Short ram intake. Megan Racing front and rear strut bars. Brand new 4300K HID kit which was just installed. 3000K HID fog lights don't work for some reason; will try to fix before selling. MP3 player with AUX. Also has a Viper alarm system which does not work because the wire that goes to the antenna (which mounts on the windshield) got slices by the guy who was installing the new windshield whenever I just bought the car. Still have the wire, antenna, remote control etc. Clean inside and out. Was changing oil regularly with fully synthetic Castrol 5W-20 and K&N oil filters. With the car comes another set of 17" white rims. 1st set of rims aka blades have tires with about 95% thread left (used them as winter tires only 2-3 months of the year) and the 2nd set has 2 tires with about 80% thread left and other 2 with about 30%. Changed all the emblems to Honda emblems and did replace the airbag with a Honda one - looks very good.
