The 2000 Mitsubishi Diamante offers four new colors: Franklin Silver Metallic, Vail White, Imperial Beige Metallic, and Pendleton Black Pearl. The exterior of the Mitsubishi Diamante looks a lot like a BMW. The exterior boasts chrome window moldings, grille trim, license plate surround and alloy wheels.
The 2000 Mitsubishi Diamante has a few new features this year. The CD player that was once optional now comes standard. A new engine immobilization system, which requires a code key to start the engine, is also included. The rear seat of the vehicle folds down for extra cargo space. In fact, the interior is very roomy and competitive in a crowded market.
The 2000 Mitsubishi Diamante revives the ES and LS trim lines, replacing the standard base model. New colors are also introduced, replacing the old Stonehenge Silver, Paris White, and Manhattan Beige Pearl. A new weather package, which includes fog lamps, is available for the LS model.
The 2000 Mitsubishi Diamante comes equipped with a 3.5-liter, V-6 engine that produces 210 horsepower. This engine is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Even with all the horsepower, the Mitsubishi Diamante accelerates at a slow zero-to-60-mph in 8.3 seconds. Braking is good though, showing off during skid stops, and stopping on a dime when pressed. The Yokohama tires are very quiet, producing little in the way of road noise.
