  • In any case, the 2001 Ford F150 still sold hundreds of thousands of trucks to satisfied buyers. As always, the 2001 F150 offered a wide selection of models and options: trims available were XL, XLT, and Lariat; cab configurations included standard 2-door and 4-door models, as well as the extended-cab supercab, in stepside and styleside; long-bed and short-bed versions were available; and 4WD choices appealed to the off-road set.

Modifications to the basic F-150 chassis and suspension gave the 2001 Ford F150 SVT Lightning the agility and responsiveness to handle this much power. The Lightning rode lower than its workhorse sibling, and its 18-inch wheels gave it a street-smart profile. Swooping, curvilinear style and comfort interiors made this one pickup that felt like a sportscar.

I have been looking for any information on cab removal on these years and what all is involved. I have a 2001 F150 7700 XLT Supercab 4X4 shortbox that was on dual fuel, gas/CNG (Natural gas) The truck has 263,000 km's on it and have been plagued with a misfire on cylinder #5. Well turns out, I have a burnt exhaust valve. So rather than tear the engine out and rebuild it, I have bought a roll-over same year with 134,000 km's. What I plan on doing is switching the cab and the box onto this frame/chassis. The guy I bought it from said it isn't running, you know that dreaded 1260 theft code!!!!
