Chevrolet, usually called Chevy, is a subsidiary of General Motors (GM). It was originally founded in Detroit by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant in 1911 (Louis apparently convinced William to use his name, and that’s probably a good thing – could you imagine the “Durant Camaro?” We can’t either.). The first Chevrolet model, the Series C Classic Six, was released in 1911 and was in production till 1913. Chevrolet's distinct bow-tie emblem was first used in the H-series of vehicles in 1914. Durant and Chevrolet briefly separated in 1915 following some differences, before GM acquired the company in 1918. Chevrolet continued to pose stiff competition to Ford during the 1920s, '30s and '40s. The 1950s saw the brand release the , a two-seater sports car that made its debut at the New York Auto Show. Despite how far Chevrolet had come to this point, we’re still decades away from the first online Chevrolet parts!
