The Exedy Stage 2 Clutch is designed to handle high output vehicles. The cerametallic clutch disk can grip and hold much better than the OEM unit and is a lot more resistant to clutch fade. All of the cerametallic discs feature a spring design which reduces driveline shock giving it great street drivability. The 3 puck design keeps rotational mass at a minimal which helps the engine rev faster. Perfect for street or racing use.
| Here's a quick overview of the installation of an EXEDY Stage 2 Clutch and lightweight chromoly flywheel in an Acura RSX. It's not so hard after all, as long as you have access to a hoist and the proper tools.
If you’ve bumped up the power a bit, and partake of the occasional autocross or test and tune day at the strip (or, just maybe, a little clandestine street racing, you Bad Boy) you and your vehicle might benefit from a Stage 2 clutch. Equipped with a thick friction disc, it will have a little extra pedal pressure, but plenty of bite and less momentum for quicker spool-up and better speed shifting. Or, if you’re racing in a class that doesn’t permit much (or any) engine modification, install an EXEDY Stage 2 clutch with the thin disc and reduce momentum even more.
Exedy Cerametallic clutch kits are designed to handle the demands of modified vehicles. These Stage 2 clutch kits can handle much more abuse than stock type clutches without slipping or fading. All of our Exedy Cerametallic Stage 2 clutches have sprung center dampers to reduce the impact and shock loads transmitted through the driveline. Exedy has two types of cerametallic clutches - thick disc and thin disc - but here at Redline360 we only carry the thick disc.
