Harmonic Balancer Puller Set at National Tool Warehouse

Before buying new tools, have you tried just tapping it appart with a rubber mallet? I've used a harmonic balancer puller for the really tricky ones, but a lot of times with some tapping they will come right apart.

Tap, then tap a spot opposing where you last hit. Go around it like you would do lug nuts or head bolts. Tap at an angle away from the case seam. You can also tap the end of the crankshaft. Work a little at a time and don't hit too hard obviously. I've done quite a few motors this way, I figure it's worth a try before buying something.
